Customer Rating: Summary: A Good Watch Comment: A really interesting documentary with the famous five giving their own account of the rise and fall of Take That (mk. 1) and loads of snippets of their hit records. Enjoyed watching the main feature and the extra clips of interviews .
(Jason seemed to be giving ex-manager Nigel a run for his money in the camp stakes during his interviews!!!)
Cant help thinking though that a lot of what went on - especially during Robbie's departure and Take That's subsequent demise - was left unsaid but as they have successfully reformed that was probably for the best.
Still - worth a watch and the reunion at the end is brilliant.
Customer Rating: Summary: Squeals of delight Comment: Gave this as a pressie. She squeaked when she opend it. Keep getting texts about how she really really really wants to marry Gary as they're perfect for each other and 'he's just lovely and cuddly'. Then she has a little cry, a sing along and a dance.
Apparently this means it's good.
Beats me. Boyzone have always been the musical geniuses in my opinion.
Customer Rating: Summary: My missus loves it Comment: My girlfriend is a huge Take That (particularly Gary Barlow) fan, and she absolutely loved this. The documentary itself is good enough, but full marks for the extras where each of the interviews with the members of the band is included in full rather than in the chopped-up bits which appear through the rest of the documentary. Good fun, and good value too.
Customer Rating: Summary: Moving and fascinating documentary Comment: An absolutely riveting insight into the lives of Take That both during the height of their success and ever since. It felt incredibly moving to hear all sides of a story very much manipulated by the tabloids and to witness how different peoples' perceptions of a situation can cause long term hurt. You will join with Gary, Jay, Howard and Mark in desparately willing Rob to turn up and will probably shed a few tears (like me!) when he doesn't. Knowing how this documentary impacted on the lives of all five ex-Thaters and brought about their reconcilliation just shows how honest and sensitive a piece of film making it was. Well done to all.
Customer Rating: Summary: Sensational! Comment: I must admit I was never a fan of Take That in their prime, nor in fact the entire boy band era, but this doc is something really special. I watched in awe, listening to the lives that these ordinary guys led and where the hurricane of their fame has left them now. The look and feel of the film was both humourous and intellectual and maintained a great depth throughout. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this piece and would like to shake its' makers by the hand, sterling job guys!
