Customer Rating: Summary: HM Customs- spoiled the moment Comment: It finally arrived. I've only watched disc 1 so far - but it was worth the wait. Opening with " If you're going to San Francisco" the memories of that era started to come back. I now have the 3 major festivals of the 60s/70s so I can escape the stresses of today for hours at any time.
My biggest gripe is that, having paid the price of the DVDs + Vat I then get stung by HM Customs for a further £14.
Given that I would recommend this collection to anyone who enjoys festivals and music. Janis Joplin and Otis Redding on the same lineup - awesome

Customer Rating: Summary: I KNOW it is fantastic Comment: I KNOW it is fantastic (having viewed some of it with a friend) without even seeing all the extra perfomances on here. And this really should be more widely available in the UK, especially on its 40th anniversary. But I would love to know where the previous 'reviewers' got their 'All Regions' copies from (????) as all I can find are Region 1 (NTSC) from the Amazon traders I have contacted. So, ARE there 'all regions' copies out there, and if so WHERE ---- pray tell ???
Customer Rating: Summary: why not available in the uk Comment: Ive seen this film on the TV , and its great.
It captures an era well and is full of great music. Also it really is a film that a 'general ' viewer can watch without much knowledge of the era. Why though does it not seem to be available in Region 2 DVD ! I was trying to buy it and can't.
If you live in Region one, buy it. If not , sob.
Customer Rating: Summary: A total mystery Comment: I really am not sure why what is probably one of the greatest music videos of all time doesn't even have one review?
I urge you to get this, if just for the Mamas and Papas and the finale by Ravi Shankar that quite frankly is a masterpiece and conveys the mood of the 1960's far better than anything you are ever likely to see in your life (unless of course you were there!).
Customer Rating: Summary: A History lesson in performance Comment: This terrific DVD set is a history lesson in the art of performing. The sheer energy and Chutzpah of Jimi Hendrix, Otis Redding, Janis Joplin, The Who and Ravi Shankar (really, watch and learn!) is enthralling - we'll never see their like again. Overall, a fascinating package with many reminiscences by photographers and musicians in audio/visual and printed form - a detailed booklet is included which fleshes out the history behind the festival. A joy.
