Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Not just a chick flic Comment: Many of the reveiews refer to this movie as a "chick flic" inferring that its probably only for the girls. I think this does it a dis-service as the film is witty, enthralling and very funny at times. The supporting cast add a great deal to the film especially the Hotel Manager & Edwards creepy little lawyer who is a figure that most will despise. Its great to see the story unfold with Vivienne trying to cope with Edwards lifestyle and the unhelpful shop staff. It all turns out good for her in the end ,as expected, but this doesn't detract from the film somehow. Simply put, get it now whether you are a chick or not ! Customer Rating: Summary: Utter classic, good date movie too! Comment: Well what can you say? If you don't know this movie you need to get out from under that rock you've been living under. The tale is sweet and romantic but not without a harsh lesson or two. It's interesting to remember that when this was made Gere was the expert and Roberts a new actress on the scene.
